This week something different then a weekly pick, since the Summer Sales are in full force i thought i would give you my thoughts on games you should keep your eyes on to perhaps pick up during the sale. This goes for both Steam and GOG sales.
Knightmare Tower created by Juicy Beast Studio is a great little game to spent some time in. Your a heroic knight in pursue of an evil enemy that resides at the top of the tower. You will slay your way to the top flying at high speed. It’s a true progression game as you need to buy upgrades to get higher in the tower. On your way to the top you will have to safe multiple princesses and slay hordes of enemies each with their own abilities. I had a lot of fun playing this game over the weekend, and found it very addictive. And for it’s prices definitely worth checking out.

Craft the World
Craft the World is a game made by Dekovir Entertainment and is currently in Early Access. In this game you control some handy dwarfs that will shape the world for you. Build a base, fight enemies and go explorer. oh and also dig holes. At it’s current state this game is already very robust and has a lot going for it. If you like to craft things and explorer the lands then i am sure you will find this game to your liking. It’s a mixture of Terraria and Dwarf Fortress. I personally played a bit of this already and am having a lot of fun with it. Plus the graphics style i really like.
Currently it’s 15% off, but was a flash sale before so might pop up with a different one during the sale – http://store.steampowered.com/app/248390/
Heroes of Might and Magic
Heroes of Might and Magic series of games is one of my favorite game series of all times, so i had to mention it here. By now most people know the series or have it in their collection already. But if you have no idea what these games are (then shame on you) then let me give you the basic rundown. You are part of a faction/race, and it is your job to conquer the lands around your castle. slaying monster, gaining a group of familiars and defeating the other players in the world (either players or AI). Gather resources to upgrade your castle, capture other strongholds and level up your hero as you go along. Many people would say Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is the best of them all, but i favor Heroes of Might and Magic 2 better, most likely because that’s the one i played the most. While the first couple of these games are pretty old, they still stand up very well. Definitely worth a try if you do not own them yet.
Heroes of Might and Magic 1 to 4 are often on sale at GOG –
State of Decay
State of Decay is game made by Undead Labs, and puts you in a world filled with Zombies. There are a lot of zombie survival games out there, and more being made. But in my opinion this is the only game so far that did it right. An open world to explorer, gather resources, help survivors and build a base (and of course killing zombies). The world of the game is pretty big and has lots of different landscapes to explorer. Besides trying to survive there is also enough to do in terms of objectives in the world of Decay. So in short if you want that Zombie apocalypse feeling that you get when watching the walking dead, then this you should pick up right away.
